I came here simply looking for some info on ATF+4 and 0W-XX oil....

Suddenly I have the next oil change & filter on the shelf in the garage for my 3 vehicles and a case of Valvoline ATF+4 just came in the brown truck. I even know what OCI and UOA are.

What the heck happened?

Is there a cure?

no.... keep perusing the specials forum and stock up before prices rise! I remember the good ol days when Mobil, PP had frequent high dollar rebates!!! sigh....

it's addicting. I probably have 30 filters in stock. my friends and neighbors all make fun of my stash.... only here am I "accepted"

I did not laugh when I hear that people are paying $250 for a simple oil change at the local MB dealer, even with 8+ quarts of Mobil 1 0W40 and fleece cartridge oil filter and free MB rental for a day, the price they pay is about 10 times my cost and I can have it done in 30 minutes whenever I want to.

I may spend good amount of money up front to add oils and filters whenever it was on sale, but over the long run I save much more than that amount.

I bought, sold, returned, exchanged, and used many sale oils. Haven't made a significant oil purchase in several years, yet still have over 100 quarts on the shelf! No harm stocking up on sale oil while you have the BITOG fever.

Fear not, AZjeff, I can effect a cure for you.

I suggest you invite my wife and I to come to AZ for the rest of the winter for us to "administer" the magic cure... we should be done and gone by May 1st.
(We don't eat much and pretty well keep to ourselves)

I actually think I'm the most tame. I don't even have one OCI worth of oil on the shelf. Half a quart of this, half a quart of that... But I keep it toned down. I don't buy it unless I need it. I have more ATF than I do Motor oil I think. (couple bottles of Dex VI, couple bottles of Merc v, and couple bottles of ATF+4)

Nick R,i'll have to agree with you i don't stock up and stash as many do.I do check the sales ads and promo section here on BITOG and if i'm within 1000-500 mi. of an oc i will p/u a deal and hold it until needed.I used to be a stasher until my shop caught fire and was totally destroyed several years ago(pre BITOG) i now have much less storage space and buy on an as needed basis.The BITOG fever will only get worse though as i find myself on here daily,often for hours,with a cup of coffee or 6 and my mouse it is by far my favorite relaxation regemine.

OK 2nd hunting is 1st.
