Help making a list of gaskets/seals

My Ford 4.6 has a leaking silicone valve cover gasket that is really bugging me, and considering it's a heck of a job, I want to replace the valve seals while I'm at it.

Call me crazy, but instead of removing the mounts and pulling the engine forward or removing the brake booster and receiver dryer, etc. I'm going to pull the motor out so I can actually enjoy working on it on an engine stand.

Apart from the rear main seal, what seals/gaskets are worthwhile replacing with the engine out? I'm also going to do the oil cooler hoses and oil filter adapter gasket whilst I'm at it. Thanks!

That said, if you're going to have the engine out already, do you have one of those oil coolers that sometimes start leaking into the coolant? If so, why no change that out too?

If you are going to do that, might as well do the timing chain and tensioners.

See if there are any timing cover leaks, real common on the 4.6, but people never do it because of the time involved in car. Since you have it on a stand however, crack it open and replace them.

Put on your secret Ford decoder ring, as this is what I would do.

6020 x3, 6A340 (tty), 6700, 6701, 6584, 9439, 9L437, 6840, 8507, 9448 if you feel like it, 12405 x8, 12029 x8 if you feel saucy, 8575, 8255, check out the 9424 for a leaking crossover.

O and since you are going to have the trans separated, so the 2 7A248s, 7A136, and get new 6441's since they strip out a lot.

And as stated in the post above mine, the timing set once you have the cover off.

EDIT: since you have it on a stand, take a good look at the 6710, might as well do that with the engine out.

You know you could always get the Trickflow heads and some nice cams since you don't have to deal with emissions there.

Thanks for the input! So let's see:

1. Timing cover gasket
2. Timing chain
3. Timing chain tensioners
4. Crank bolt
5. Front oil seal (replaced last week lol)
6. Rear oil seal
7. Valve cover gasket
8. Intake manifold gasket
9. Upper plenum o-ring
10. Oil filter adapter gasket
11. Coolant pump gasket
12. Exhaust manifold gaskets
13. Torque converter seal
14. Transmission oil pump gasket
15. Torque converter bolts

The plugs and coils were replaced on Thursday, and the thermostat and o-ring were replaced last month. No point in replacing those again I guess. Will thoroughly check the oil pan gasket and intake manifold, as it's a year old now...make sure there are no problems.

Now I have my list together!

Make sure you get both the T/C seals. There is a large o-ring and a smaller seal. Also the torque converter uses nuts not studs, they are the weird looking ones that aren't round, it will be the only standard size fastener on that engine.

O, if you are pulling the intake for any reason, check the pipe that runs from behind the water pump on the block to the passengers side. The basic is 18663 and you have to get the 2 o-rings separate. It is the one that the 9J460 mounts onto.

If you are at the dealer, the 6441's update to a standard number, its a -N or -W, forget which one. If they need an illustration it should be on the one for the 7902.

Ever since I installed the Marauder air box housing and '04 P71 zip tube, the oil fill was covered by the tube. So I'm upgrading to '03-'04 valve covers (which apparently come with the gaskets and grommets) whilst I'm at it. Putting the list together, this is what I have so far (still updating):
