I'm currently looking into getting a tube of grease for my ball joints on my 2006 F350 6.0 PSD. It's a hot shot rig and sees a lot of towing/hauling. I'm looking into amsoil products, it's all I use, but I don't understand the difference, if any, between NLGI#1 and #2 which would better suit my application thanks!

Do you know what grease has been used previously? You want to avoid compatibility issues. A #1 is a softer grease than the usual #2.

I appreciate the recommendations but I'd prefer to stay with amsoil

The dominator , offroad, multipurpose, artic, and water resistant greases are calcium sufonate. Their polymeric greases are lithium complex.

The lithium greases are what i would go with less chance of incompatibility. Perhaps the polymeric truck/chassis grease.

Thanks! I was actually looking into the off road grease because of the 5% moly, but I'll look into the lithium ones

Honestly I just had no idea what the difference in the #1 and #2 was but now I know it's just consistency if that's the proper word.
