I've gotten used to using a long hemostat if the plug falls out. I took the rubber out of my ancient Craftsmans years ago. I simply put a piece of painter's tape inside the socket for installs. It holds just enough to hold the plug vertical, but not enough tension to hang on after it's screwed in.Amazon has a 2pcs set consisting of 14mm and 16mm magnetic swivel sockets for C$12 showing 1.2K sold and 4.7 rating.
Technically, a magnetic telescoping rod can be used to fish plug out. A piece of say fuel hose can be used to put and start treading plug in too.

Yeah, not pro, but I don't do plugs often enough to invest in new ones when this works.
I worked there part time in HS. 10% discount! My Craftsman sockets are pretty ancient, but they still work for me. I miss Sears Craftsman.
135iI know of them, but have no use case to justify tools for. Not sure what brands/makes use such things.

Unless it has been revised again, the N54 has a 45,000 mile interval for spark plugs. You're over halfway therelol, well that’s good to know since I have one. But mine has like 28k miles on it…

That may be ergonomic but I have doubts about comfort and how it handles in normal use. This is wrench porn. It has already been banned in eleven states. Twelve if you count Rhode Island.
I like that plug starter, never saw one before, other than vacuum hose, searching amazon now.Plug starter and magnetic socket.

Mac Tools Spark Plug Starter is really neat; I thread the plugs until it slips and then finish with TW. You cannot cross thread the plug. Now, I use just a wisp of antiseize around the lower threads, which lubes as well. Flame suit on...I like that plug starter, never saw one before, other than vacuum hose, searching amazon now
Soooo… how does it work??I went with the Snap-on retention socket. Neither magnetic, rubber or clip. Interesting technology, we'll see how well it works.

I did not pay $96 cdn. I have a 25% discount and a company gift CC. (yes I could use that money elsewhere) So it was free.
I actually own a Snap-on aviation spark plug socket and its got a retaining ring. Have it for nearly 30 years. Never had to replace ring and it hold plugs fine.
I'll buy the koken with remaining amount.
