Health Insurance Headache

I just got off the phone with the Insurance company concerning my wife's claim.It seems since she switched to Mid West Life the claims are not controled like if you have Blue Cross. I had bloodwork done BCBS discounted the charges about 80%. Midwest 0 so they said my detuctable had to be met for her and for two tests $280.

Lesson I should have kept her on my plan even though it cost more if you need to use it you get F#*%*@.

Many times the insurer takes an aggressive approach so as not to pay the claim. I have written the state's department of insurance and asked for help, the insurer comes up with the claim money about 90% of the time.

Just a thought.

I feel your pain. Health ins. isn't going to get any better.

We had a baby 4 weeks ago today. We already paid our $150 fee to the hospital, that's all United HC said we will have to pay. Well yesterday we got a bill for $480 for some labs. It was saying that I had them done. My wife called them and said it was HER who had the baby, not her husband. That's why we got the bill, so they are going to resubmit the claim under my wife's name.

Seems like things never go smoothly. I'd rather have a dental filling then have to deal with a health ins company. But, am VERY thankful my family and I have it.
