Wife uses a Plantronics headset that connects to a land line. When it breaks, she just buys the same model, made in 2011. She can no longer get the 2011 made model. Issue is internal battery related.

Wife has tried newer model Plantronics headsets, latest purchase was last month. She returned the headset, and I wasn't surprised. The headset didn't stay on her head (or mine when I tried). I was surprised as I thought Plantronics was the industry leader in headsets. Doing some fact finding, I discovered HP purchased Plantronics in 2019. IMO HP is no longer the company we knew as kids. HP you to be a top shelf product, I no longer buy anything HP because of lack of quality, and bloat wear software.

Came across this Jabra Engage headset. Anyone know anything about this or a like headset product for use with a land line?

You may have included them in your search and just not mentioned it because the names are somewhat interchangeable, but Plantronics is now marketed as Poly. This caused me a bit of a headache when I was searching for the headset I ultimately bought for the office a few years ago.

Mine is a Poly 8210, and I can't complain about it.

If you don't want HP-owned on principle, fair enough.

If your wife's previous Plantronics was the same as the one I used for me helpdesk job at the time, that thing was the holy grail of headsets. It's gonna be hard to find one as good now but there's a lot that come close.

I have department head who uses hearing aids so I ordered him the first edition of that Jabra 65 Evolve and a Poly Voyager 4320; both on-ear and not in-ear.

They're both really similar as far as headset stand and features go. The Polycom sounds just slightly better and slightly more (imo) common button manipulation. What Poly did she try, because of she didn't like the Poly then she probably won't like the sound of the Jabra and may dislike it's control scheme more.

The Jabra 65 evolve isn't bad but imo it's not better than the Poly and definitely doesn't justify its premium price. I'm planning to order the poly 4320 for the rest of the office.

That said, I personally only use Jabra earbuds now. Their earbud microphone quality easily beats out other competitors and maintains a good battery life for their size.

www.rtings.com has awesome reviews where they'll record themselves when their walking out in the city so you can hear the microphone quality also.

Edit: I just noticed you said landline. I was thinking of voip phones with the bluetooth glitz and glamour.

I've used Polycom before but that was a couple decades ago. They seem to be owned by HP as well.
