headlights flickering

I always let the truck run for at least 5 minutes prior to driving it in the winter. both my wife and I have a short drive to work, so I prefer to let it idle for a bit. I checked the voltage with the alternator running and it was reading a steady 14.8 at the battery. got a reading on the battery after it sat for a couple of hours and it was 12.2 ( this was after a few minutes of me poking around with the hood open and I had to run in the house to change the battery in my meter. was doing some research on this issue as many people with a TB seem to have it and one person suggested checking the ground wire on the air pump. not sure where that wire is as I would like to check it. the battery is 2 years old and is a diehard. it is a maintenance free one. guess my next step could be to test the ground wires with my meter ? what really gets me is that we have had the truck for 5+ years and this is the first time running across this.

Just for grins get that battery tested at, oh, say, autozone. If it flunks, bring it back to Sears.

Getting the battery tested at Autozone or advanced auto was a thought as well. the battery should still be good but you never know. considering how cold last winter was and this truck had never problems with the headlights, something has to give. I double checked the ground connection on the alternator last night by trying to wiggle and it did not budge at all. maybe I can have the alternator voltage regulator tested as well as the battery as I am sure they could put a load on it and see how it reacts.

does anybody have a resource where I can find all of the ground locations for my Trailblazer. I have checked all of them I could find but want to be sure I did not miss any. so far I have found 4 separate locations. 2 on the driver side fender , one on the firewall that had 2 connections and one on the passenger side fender by the washer fluid container. had the battery and alternator checked. the alternator is putting out a steady 14.2 volts . the battery is sealed so maybe it has a bad cell as each cell could not be tested. I hate to but a new battery only to have this continue. not able to take the battery back as defective unless I have some proof that it is. thanks for any more suggections.
