Head lights on but brake lights not !!!

Hi.
My brother car is 96' monte carlo Z34 which is 196k on it.
It has some str

ange problem. As you guys know, when the head light on, the brake lights and all the interior back lights should be on simultanously. It doesn't come out at all. So I checked all the bulbs and fueses, but everything is good even I bought the new headlight switch unit it doesn't help me. Wouldn't you say control the dimmer switch?

I don't know if that car is the same setup as my old '96 Cavalier but I had a similar problem and it turned out to be the Multi-Function Switch that controlled the turn signals, hazards, etc. (if memory serves me correctly)

I don't think the Multi-Function switch has problem. The reason is the turn signal and hazard works properly. In addition the Z34 has a haed light switch unit separately.
