To anyone in the know, does this kind of oil exist? How about a VW 502.00 PCMO synthetic with the most robust additive pack?

I'm using HDEO Rotella T 5w40 now for the Auto-Rx rinse as a two pronged approach to my sludge prone 1.8T. Somehow, the engine is now quieter with this oil as compared to my other previous 5w40/502 pcmo synth oils used.

Now if only there is an hdeo/502 oil in existence I'd gladly use it with regularity. Thanks!

Most 502 rated oils also carry the B3/B4 diesel oil specs. VW's seem to like thicker oils so any 40 weight should work fine. Mine loved the Delvac 1300s 15w40, but since you have a turbo I would stick to a full syn like Mobil-1 5w-40 Truck and SUV or German Castorl 0w-30.

Turbos run fine on dino HDEO. Nearly all OTR trucking is turbo diesel and 99% use plain HDEO. I like Delvac 1300s too, but think M1 5w-40 would be your best bet if you car has a lil sludge.

Would dino non-vw 502 hdeo perform well vs a 502 synth oil with a 5k oci in a known sludge maker as the 1.8T(4qt cap only)? Granted, hdeo runs fine in turbodiesels but how many are sludge prone? I'd say it's pretty nil coz most truck tds'if not all have bigger oil sumps.

I'd like to use the robust M1 T&S 5w40, but it lacks the 502 rating though. Passat 1.8T owners need the 502 oils to preserve the engine warranty.

Well, I'm pretty new to hdeo stuff. 1st time to use Rotella 5w40 (for Arx rinse) in my 1.8T. Until this rinse, previous were all pcmo at strict 5k ocis. Do you mean all hdeos' are dino oil?

Okey, incidentally after some web searching I found this two oils with vw 502 ratings. It would be perfect if the specified 5w40 wt(those picky vw warranties..) is available though.

Amsoil Series 3000 5w30 HDDO

Schaeffer Supreme 7000 15w40

Are they any good for the 1.8T? Any users of these oils?
