Have any of you on here tried HD Polish? I'm looking to try something new that will remove light imperfections but I need something that buffs off easily and from the sounds of this polish it might just fit the bill. I'll be using it with my UDM DA, and would use an orange pad for the first pass to get rid of deeper imperfections, then a second pass with a white pad to clean it up, followed by my LSP (I like to alternate between Zaino Z2 & Z5)

Don't know about HD polish but I have recently used mcguires Ultimate Polish with greet sucess to remove scuff marks from paint with an orbital buffer. Did not dust and followed up with a layer of wax looked good as new

if it's the same HD line as the one I'm thinking of it's good. it should have about 7 different products and is sold on the autopia.org site.

Patman...it's good stuff. I use it on my Griot's RO with the Meguiar's MF Pads. Works well on my hard VW clear. Easy to wipe off and leave a very wet looking finish compared to other polishes. I like Meg's 205 almost as much, but the HD Polish seems to cut through some pretty decent defects for a "polish." Good stuff. Try it.

I'm going to order some this week! Where is the best place to order it from? It's $19.99 for a small bottle if I order it directly from 3D, does anyone sell it for less?

Even with the sale total price with shipping is less through Amazon although it ships from the same source. Just about the same price, shipping and handling kinda high. I bought some HD UNO mostly to remove some light scrapes and did my entire car, I like the results. I was going to get some of the polish but decided if I used the correct pad the UNO would be okay for the entire car.

They wanted too much for shipping, their default setup was one day shipping for $80! Yikes! And even when I switched it to the other option it was still $30. I ended up ordering it from California's Finest Detail Supply.

Glad to hear. Their AIO, Speed, is also a great product. I used HD Polish and topped with Meg's Ultimate Wax. Looks fantastic, even on my white car.

I finally got around to using HD polish on my Corvette this morning and it works very well! I made one pass using an orange pad and two passes using a white pad and it made a noticeable difference in the finish. It's very easy to work with as well, it buffs off way easier than most compounds of this nature. It does produce a tiny bit more dust than I would like, but not an insane amount.

I too like HD Polish, on Corvettes, which are notorious for rock hard clear, we will usually use a compound first unless the defects are very minor, but have been using HD Polish to finish with for quite a while (vs. megs 205 or menzerna), and while most of these compounds and polishes claim zero dust, that's never been the case. They all seem to produce "some" dust, but with HD Polish, it's been very little. Great product.

how do you compare HD Polish with Meguair's 105/205 duo? Last year I ordered big bottles of 105/205 and at the going it rate, it will last me lifetime!

HD Polish seems to give more of a wet look to the finish with 205 is more shine. I love them both. It just depends on what you are going for. I polished my white VW with HD in the spring and was impressed at how wet the white paint looked.

HD Polish is supposed to finish down better than M205. Some detailers have mentioned difficulty in finishing perfectly using M205 on certain soft paints.

CA Finest Detailing Supply is actually local to me, so I just picked up a bottle for $20 this week. I'll be giving it a try very soon in preparation to apply Opti-Coat 2.0 on the Prius.
