O'Reilly's has both of these oils on sale right now for $1.99qt and I figured that Havoline was the better oil so I picked up a case but my curiosity got the best of me so I figured I'd ask.

Is the Havoline GP-II+ or just GP-II base stock?

As I've been informed Havoline is Group II+. However, it's based on information that I've gathered here and on other websites. Ultimately it's stated that Chevron developed the process to make Group II+ and thus that's what their conventional oil is. Either way Havoline users have some great UOA to show so I think you made a good call (I've got Havoline in my car right now actually).

Pepboys had some great Peak oil deals a few months back and people picked up a bunch then, overall people have been giving good reviews of Peak oil, but the Havoline is still more tried and true in my book

I got FAR 20 quarts Peak oil and 4 Proline oil filter few months ago. My '94 LS400 is currently running Peak oil 10W30, it seems thinner than most dino 10W30 and the engine is very quiet with it and gas mileage is better by about 3-5%, from 18.5-19.0 to 19.3-20.0 MPG for 6-7 tanks so far.

I would pick Havoline over Peak any day, but Peak isn't bad either. I've used it in the Daewoo and Malibu so far, with no issues to report. Both are running fine.

I went back today and got another case of Havoline
