This is a question regarding the best oil for my vehicle. I've looked at previous posts... and looked at UOAs... and now it's time for me to ask the dreaded question for all to bicker over.

Between Havoline dino, Motorcraft, and Mobil 7500... which oil would be the best in the 5w20 form on a 2.3L Mazda motor?

I'm right there with ya, I have a 3.0 Ford v6. MC is my first choice due to its combination of base oil, add pack, good cold weather properties and UOA's. Havoline is a close second. I'll wait and see how some UOA's look on the Mobil 7500 before I form an opinion.

MC and Havoline have proven themselves in the past. Mobil 7500 uses Group III, like MC, but with some PAO. So the base oils are better on paper. It all comes down to the add pack. UOAs will tell the story. If I had to pick one today, I would go with the MC just because of past performance. It's what I currently use in my 99 Taurus 3.0 Vulcan. Can't get it at Wally World anymore, though.

If Mobil Clean 5000 or 7500 turns in good UOAs, then I might switch.

I think Havoline for $1.17 (69 cents on sale) is hard to beat. I was using M1 in my wifes Honda, but switched to Havoline cause it is a very high quality/ low cost dino oil, especially the 5w20.

Look at Jay's UOA on his RSX using 5w20 Havoline and you will see that it performed great.

I saw the Mobil Clean 7500 at my Walmart today. They also had Mobil 1 0W40, I had been getting it at autozone till now. The spot for the ED 50 5 quart container was empty and I didn't see a spot for the ED 50 quarts
