I've spoken to some Tech-line folks working at some major oil companies that didn't as well.Unlikely. Most people buying oil there have no idea what the current standards are

Ummm.... not sure that doesn't still apply to most of us here, too, lol.Sometimes I envy the people who aren’t oil nerds like us, they just pop in and grab whatever is the cheapest or whichever label looks best to them![]()
Let me know when you actually find it for sale. I searched for it & couldn’t find it anywhere.I like that they now have a 0W-40!
Yes, it’s similar to other 0W-40’s, but interesting to see another one out there!
Also, the cold-crank numbers are great on this line of oils!
I reached out to Havoline to see where I could purchase it. Standing by for their response.Let me know when you actually find it for sale. I searched for it & couldn’t find it anywhere.
Think they could of done better with color codes - and not dumping my SP in recycle for this - will see where next Dexos lands

8.0 on the 0w-20 is the current spec at 100c is what I am seeing ?Like the specs on the 0W-20….9.0 at 100C
I think it's engine specific. For example I have seen people.talking about it happening to the Hyundai 1.6 turbo, but the VW tsi engines don't have that problem.interesting that it offers better LSPI protection, as many here think that the issue does not really exist. Someone sure thinks it does.
The early Mazda MZR engines suffered from LSPI at low rpm acceleration. Think country road or highway speed (50-60mph) in 6th gear. If one would lightly tip into the throttle to accelerate it would sound like WW3 was happening under the hood. Problem was solved for the most part with upgraded higher flow mechanical fuel pump internals.I think it's engine specific. You sure it wasn’t the problematic DCT acting up? Those 7-speed DCT’s had a ton of issues.I had a LSPI event on my 2018 1.6T Hyundai turbo. LSPI is a small cubic inch/liter engine turbo thing. The engine made it through it, I don't know how. Still in stock form when it happened. I went WFO at about 1,600 to 2,200 rpm can't remember for sure , and BAM. It felt like the car jumped 5 ft in the air. The event was very violent. I was sure the motor was totaled right there and then, but it was still idling and sounded normal. The car is now a tuner car and gets beat on hard daily. At 63,000 miles, but it is a Hyundai, it will be a miracle if it makes it to 100,000 miles.
Nope, my DCT isn’t that bad, the 2018 Kona’s DCT were built by the A team, the 2019 Kona’s were built by the C- team. I think it was LSPI. WFO at 1,650 to 1,750 and wham. I am needing a clutch at 60,000 with towing and 230-240 hp. It is getting the cryo clutch installed next week. I Cryoed the new clutch assembly and the new dual mass flywheel as there are no after market clutches for the 7 speed that work right. I got the new DCT firmware update that has more slip added into the clutch for their fix for studded clutch. It was needed as if you drag raced it it would beat the heck out of the clutch/trans because it had very little slip at wot. Driving like a grandma it was ok. I wish I could get between the two actually. It is a lot better than it was.You sure it wasn’t the problematic DCT acting up? Those 7-speed DCT’s had a ton of issues.
The API specs always set the bar so low. Wish they would mandate european oil specs in the US.In a nutshell it offers better protection against LSPI and slightly better wear protection
Local WM has the Lifelong 6qt boxes in stock. Local Napa has the regular Pro-DS in stock but only in 1qt bottles and at $10/qt I'll skip it.Is anyone seeing any of the brands in stores ?
I think he might be referencing the "Lifelong." That one shows 9.0 at 100c for 0w-20.8.0 on the 0w-20 is the current spec at 100c is what I am seeing ?
