In a nutshell it offers better protection against LSPI and slightly better wear protectionwhat is SQ, and what is the difference in performance than SP?
interesting that it offers better LSPI protection, as many here think that the issue does not really exist. Someone sure thinks it does.In a nutshell it offers better protection against LSPI and slightly better wear protection
I like Havoline but hate the box.Great oil but unfortunately very little love for Havoline oil.
I had a LSPI event on my 2018 1.6T Hyundai turbo. LSPI is a small cubic inch/liter engine turbo thing. The engine made it through it, I don't know how. Still in stock form when it happened. I went WFO at about 1,600 to 2,200 rpm can't remember for sure , and BAM. It felt like the car jumped 5 ft in the air. The event was very violent. I was sure the motor was totaled right there and then, but it was still idling and sounded normal. The car is now a tuner car and gets beat on hard daily. At 63,000 miles, but it is a Hyundai, it will be a miracle if it makes it to 100,000 miles.interesting that it offers better LSPI protection, as many here think that the issue does not really exist. It's not a good deal but....I like Havoline but hate the box.
i think LSPI is a thing for sure. incompatibilities between tech, oil and CAFEI had a LSPI event on my 2018 1.6T Hyundai turbo. LSPI is a small cubic inch/liter engine turbo thing. If they would make 5 quart boxes or get the 5 quart jugs down to a competitive price point then I’d be all over some Havoline. All my vehicles take 4.xx quarts. I see no compelling reason to pay more per quart or deal with a left over quart every time compared to other options.
I used to buy Chevron in the day but it's no deal today...If they would make 5 quart boxes or get the 5 quart jugs down to a competitive price point then I’d be all over some Havoline. Maybe they are just being more honestAll those great certs-specs and it's only a 10k oil while all the others are 20 to 25K although most won't ever go that far.
Actually I called them years back and its on here. Their policy was their oil was good for the manufacturers recommended OCI.....Maybe they are just being more honest
