having trouble getting a Single insurance quote

We've had multiple claims over the years. And they have never jacked up our rates. Heck there have even been a couple they've forgiven...
Odds are you your parents have Erie's "rate lock" option.
I'm curious as to how you managed to stay on your parent's auto insurance policy all this time. The insurance companies usually insist on kicking "kids" off on their own by their late 20s.
Since he lives at the same address and is a licensed driver, he HAS to at least be listed as a driver on their policy.

Car insurance is easy to automate so the internet can generate a price. House insurance is harder.

However, six cars is harder still. I thought I could use an aggregator to maybe get a referral to a company I've never heard of. Nope! Just got endless calls and voicemails. I'm not reading off six VINs and four drivers informations to a single company that can't figure out how to get this through a universal portal.

Stick to your guns, OP, but prepare to have to talk to people on the phone.

Since you are internet literate, it sounds to me as if searching for a multi-line insurance agency
would be a good & prudent way to go. Let them search multiple companies and present you
with the quotes. Even if you have to search hundreds of miles away from your current location.
Again, ...search for multi-line insurance companies / agents in your whole state, then call, e-mail
or Text the telephone numbers & e-mail addresses listed.

In my current state where I live, I was told that Progressive no longer insures homes over a certain
age [ too many claims in my state ]. I used to have an auto / home policy with them for a few years.

Remember, the insurance companies are in business to make as much money as they can. They
do not have to return your calls, Texts or e-mails [ been there, done that ]. Yes, I know that this is
[ VERY ] frustrating and time consuming. Keep a written log of everyone that you contact [ i.e. -
dates, times, type of contact made, etc. ]. This "shopping around" seems to be the normal way of finding insurance these days AND going forward, or at least it is here in my state.

Also, as a word of awareness / caution, I recommend that you do not accept the cheapest policy
quotes that you receive. You " may " want to contact the insurance commissioner's office in your
state for some current / reputable companies.

As you or your wife may already know, all of this investigative searching, contacting, logging of contacts / communications, etc. is usually defined as "performing your due diligence".

Best of luck with your search. Please let us know how it turns out !

OP, do you have a credit card/credit history? It should be easy enough to get some quotes online or just call an independent local agent and let them shop for you.

yes. in fact, score just shy of 800. ( and 10 points higher than hers! HA!)
over the last 20 some years, 4-5 different cards, 3 car loans, and 2 apartment leases with the accompanying utilities, ( but no lease/utilities since i moved back home in 2005)
Currently paying off (about 1/2 way through) a ~$16k personal loan I took out to pay off CC debt that had been building since 2010... I was actually debt free for about a month in early 2010....

Geico, Progressive, and esurance are the three big ones online. I would suggest applying to one or even all 3 just to see what happens.

If you get no response from them - and it should be almost instant - then you have an issue. Possibly you have no Lexis-Nexis profile at all and its holding things up? You might need to have your fiancee apply as the primary or something?

Stop with the insurance search engines!! You end up in an endless loop. Go direct to the company websites above
Here is another one
https://sagesure.com/

Also Travelers ins, All State, Erie

Not all companies offer products in all states.

You probably have no insurance score because you never had an insurance policy, it doesn’t count that your parents put you on their policy. I’m assuming you have a solid credit history and if so, it should be no problem.
I suspect you can easily have insurance, go direct to the insurance company and stop with the online search engines.

BTW- just because you’d rather not use them for whatever unfounded reason State Farm is a solid choice if you can’t find anyone else. It might be more forgiving for someone without a solid insurance score.
Once insured, you could always switch out later on.

I received 4 homeowner quotes online a year ago. I was actually surprised.

They all came back with the same error - said I had a basement when I do not. My house profile in Lexus/Nexus was wrong. Current insurer fixed it, on there policy at least.

The one I did go with came out and took some pictures, fixed the basement thing, etc. Everything gets more automated.

went on to insurify.... the first one that got back to me was Allstate.
rates look pretty decent. and as other said, if you don't like it, you can change insurers down the road.
had to work over the last 2 days, past the time insurance offices are closed. had to contact the realtor to find out the proposed closing date, as the agent suggested that for the policy start date. ( as I tell everyone along the journey, when i forget things, or ask what i think might be a "stupid question"... we're first time buyers, we REALLY don't know what we're doing..) now its the weekend, I'm off Monday and Tuesday, MUST CALL ALLSTATE AND DO THE DEAL!!! oh yeah... gotta make sure I have Her info to put on the policy , since she'll be on the Deed to the Property.
must keep the Mrs. (to be) Happy, and in the Loop.

Start clean and call a few brokers that deal with insurance in your state. There is no good or pleasant way to ask this but why would you live with and be on parents insurance at 46 years old? That is wild.

You have a rough road ahead of you trying to get a reasonable rate. With no personal history you are going to be treated with high rates as any other new insured customer.

hey man, we all live different lives.
we don't have the same life experiences.
did I make the best life choices, certainly not. a little slow to launch, but I'm getting there.
besides, have you seen rent prices lately? it's cheaper to buy a house than rent one.
I was single for 20+ years before I found the right person, and now we're starting OUR lives together. ( she just turned 40 and lives with her parents too)

and when I went to our old agent (RIP) in my mid 20's to try and get my own policy, when he ran the numbers, he told me, since I still live at home, just stay put.. I would have paid basically double for the same coverage on my Own policy, vs third Driver on theirs.

and now, they're old enough that I'm the Cheap one on the policy...

It’s quite simple actually, a phone number along with an email has more probability of them being linked to a real person instead of a bot account. These companies are bombarded by fake bot account with nothing but an email address.

Not sure why you’re so averse about giving your phone number, just don’t reply to texts until after work, just like with emails.
