Have you ever felt an invisible presence

I had one single event that couldn’t be explained and was probably “ghost” activity, when I was twelve years old. Traveled the world with the military and federal government and never had anything else happen, despite many stories about places I’ve been.

A couple years ago I retired from federal law enforcement and picked up a campus cop job as my retirement gig. The campus has buildings dating back almost 200 years. Since I’ve started working there, the unexplainable events are at least weekly, if not more frequent. It’s so common that new employees stop mentioning it to co-workers after the first few weeks they are with us. Everything from loud voices when nobody is around, to shapeless black things moving around, objects and doors moving, and more. We are all just so comfortable with it at this point that it takes a lot to rattle someone.

The most remarkable story during my time is from a gentleman who was in the oldest building on campus to lock some doors. There’s a hallway with a row of old metal filing cabinets along it. My co-worker walked down the hall as he had many times before, locked a door at the end of the hall, turned around and all of the top drawers of the cabinets were open. He was so frightened we could hardly understand what he was saying on the radio. There was no explanation of how the drawers could have silently opened, all of them, within a matter of seconds. At the very least they made lots of noise when opening and it would have taken a person a few minutes to do that. After that it became an unspoken rule that it’s acceptable for an officer to request a partner for any call in that building— nobody has laughed about it since that incident. The guy who witnessed that has refused to set foot in that building again and the union allegedly backs him on that.

Everything is explainable and if you believe it’s not it simply means you just don’t understand it. There is nothing that is supernatural in the universe - just the natural and we all live by these rules of the universe.
Opinions certainly vary and some things that happen simply have NO explanation regardless of how you spin it.

I always talk to my Guardian Angel (people think I'm crazy talking to an imaginary friend or think I'm on a hands free cellphone). I will be 67 YO this year ever since birth I've never been in harms way. Yes, there has been in a situation in many close calls, but I believed those incidents were prevented by my GA. Wherever I/We arrived in/to church, I said to my GA "Here we are, GA, where are home"

Can’t say that I have or at least I don’t think so. However, I have heard a voice in my head that was more than vivid. Imagine just sitting alone sipping coffee on the sofa, and then someone comes up from behind you and gets right next to your ear, and starts talking in the most clear and distinct manner possible. It actually startled me as I turned my head to look around. Definitely was freaky! 😳

No, there is an explanation. It may “feel” like it was real or had no explanation, just like deja vu “feels” real when the reality is it’s just a particular combination of neurotransmitters being released that simulate an Ah ha moment at an inappropriate time. The supernatural does not exist or at least there is no objective and testable evidence for its existence.

Yep. The human mind is demonstrably faulty, and looks for patterns to a fault. Psychological priming it's absolutely a thing with supernatural experiences and many other things as well.

Again, OPINIONS VARY as we all have one. People get caught up in thinking unless there's lame scientific proof then it doesn't/can't exist when I question everything I was taught to believe growing up. I know exactly what happened to me 28 yrs ago and there is/was no explanation for it and sure wasn't a figment of my imagination. You do you, bwahaha, and I will continue to believe what I've experienced. I simply won't be doubted or questioned, especially by the mere mortals this planet is littered with!

That's what the religious folks are sticking to.
…and it’s childlike to believe in anything supernatural because it’s inconsistent with our every day lives EXCEPT those believe in the supernatural or even one single supernatural event almost always believe because THEY get/got something out of it. Literally, the belief that the laws of the universe were broken or bent for ME or someone I care about. It’s usually self serving.

It’s just childish…

Lol…sure you will. I’m a mere mortal questioning you right now.

Elements in our universe had to come from somewhere. Our universe has a rule: 0 + 0 = 0. We can't make nothing from nothing here. So where did the hydrogen and carbon and nitrogen and oxygen etc come from? How can the big bang occur if there is nothing before that?

I’m not going to get into because you can go do your own homework and read about it yourself. The moment someone invokes the “something from nothing argument”, I stop listening, because I know I’m dealing with an intellectually lazy person who has done no reading or thinking about this. Which theory is the something from nothing theory?

The Big Bang Theory says NOTHING about the origin of the universe, only what has happened at T=some time after zero. You are out of your depth but you think you can discredit something you don’t understands with your 0+0=0 logic. Lol…

I love that almost universally those who try to discredit science know nothing about it.

Not a first person account but narrated by my cousins.

Years ago, my niece was getting married and wedding reception was to be at a lake resort. Her dad (my cousin) wanted to spruce up the place with lots of plants and hired some people to do just that. So he brings 4 of them to the ancestral place where we all grew up. (My mom and all her 7 siblings lived for decades in homes adjacent to each other.) The place is fenced in, is kinda large, with many wild and cultivated trees, plants and flowers. They were to take plants, flowers and bring them to the wedding reception area. My cousin goes to chat with my other cousin who is the only one who still lives there. He returns half an hour later, only to find the hired help loitering around, doing nothing. So he asks why they have not done the work, have not loaded the plants into the pickup. They reply, an older grey haired lady came to them and forbade them. He asks, how did she look like, and they said so. Their description described to a T my aunt who had died 9 years earlier of a heart attack in that same driveway! No way it could have been another person who had merely wandered in, as the place is fenced in with a stone wall and the gate is locked all the time.

Another story, in the same place years later. My cousin was expecting a delivery but did not know what time in the morning. So he tells the delivery company I will leave the gate unlocked, Just come into the driveway and ring my doorbell. The guys arrive later, enter the gate, and see 2 houses at the end of the 100 foot driveway. Not knowing which is the correct house, they knock on the house to their right (wrong house). They see two grey haired ladies peer at them through the glass window just beside the door. Just at that time, my cousin sees them from his house on the left and tells them Guys, you got the wrong house. Nobody has lived in that house for years now. The delivery guys reply, But who were the 2 older ladies who we saw? My cousin: What do they look like? Their description matched my 2 (old maid) aunties who had been dead for some years now! Guys turned white and hightailed it out of there.

Ok, clearly all the stuff in universe exists, so where did it all come from?

Spoken like a spineless scientologist.... maybe one of these decades those morons can make sense of it all.
