Hastings oil filters

I've never used a Hastings oil filter, are the still a decent choice?

Yes, hastings are good oil filters in my opinion. They are the same as Baldwin oil filters. This link use to work, it shows a baldwin cut open. Maybe it will work later on

Judging by the looks inside, the Hastings is an ordinary filter much the same as a Purolator or the old Champs and less media than an AC. They are mostly distributed by high mark up jobbers.

The hastings are pretty cheap on amazon. I was wondering this very question about Hastings yesterday when i found them on amazon.com.

I've spoken with the tech people at Baldwin. They told me that Hastings filters are identical to Baldwin filters, and they also make lower quality Casite and other brands. I feel that Baldwin and Hastings are top quality construction and average filtration. I have used Baldwin filters on industrial applications for years, and I've never seen a failure.

Just got done using up my stock of $3.50 Hastings filters on my PT Cruiser.

Very, very solid filters, although I'd hesitate to pay MSRP on them...
