Hastings LF240 or equivalent

I have used oem honda, purolator and hastings filters for my 2003 Honda Civic Ex. Out of those 3 what would you recomend? Or any other filter that is less than 9 or 10 dollars. I change my oil almost monthly because of the traveling I do for my job. Thanks!

I have cut open a Hastings LF 143, Purolator L 10193, and a Super Tech ST3950 and found them all about the same inside. Many Hondas use these same part numbers or similar filters. The Fram PH 3950 has less then half the filter area of the others. I would go to Wal-Mart and see if they have a Super Tech for yours. Since I found this site, I feel much better about running cheapies from Wal-Mart.
