Has Anyone Ever Bought A Used/Pre-Owned Cellphone (GAZELLE)

The battery health means a lot. My phone is at 82% maximum charging capacity and I can tell it's not as good as it once was. I bought my iPhone 12 mini new on Black Friday 2020. And while not necessary, I myself won't go back to 4G.

People are gross. The thought of handling an unknown person's used phone is about as appealing as a second-hand keyboard.

I bought a used IPhone from Gazelle and have been very happy with it. I also sold them a used Android phone and was happy with the transaction.
Did you buy Fair, Good, or Excellent? I have been reading reviews until I am blue in the face. Over half of the 4+ star ratings are of 1st time buyers buying Fair or good and stating the phone was in Excellent shape. 🤔 🤷‍♀️

I'd want to know the max charge battery percentage Gazelle sells a phone at. Apple charges $69 for a battery replacement at an Apple Store.

I just bought a brand new LG Velvet on eBay for $240. I don't care wbout updates. Android 10 or 12 is fine and will do more than I'll ever need.
I'll get a solid 2-3 years out of it and by then there'll be another 2-3 year old flagship phone available for a steep discount.

If I were an Android user I’d be all over this as they have horrible resale compared to Apple.

Conversely if I were an Apple user I’d avoid used phone because they have high resale.

Good luck.

All my phones have been new. Three years ago on Black Friday I got a Samsung A50 from best buy with 256K SD card and the whole thing with tax then was $240. Then I went to T-Mobile and got their senior discount $30 a month which includes all taxes and is unlimited.

I have read more good things than bad about buying a used/pre-owned phone from reputable places. GAZELLE has some of the best reviews. I was kind of thinking about it.
Opinions?

Good deals can be had especially on Android phones. A friend of mine recently purchased a "certified refurbished" Samsung off eBay for a steep discount. It looked brand new to me.

Only advice l can give is to check sellers reputation/reviews and be absolutely certain that it is a US model. There are a lot of gray market international model phones out there that may not have all of the frequencies/bands used by US carriers.

As for me, l occasionally monitor deal sites on the web and buy new when a good deal on a new phone surfaces. l always buy unlocked phones directly from the manufacturer.

My last purchase was a Galaxy Z Flip 4 during the launch event this summer. They were offering $900 trade-in for a Z Flip 3 and were throwing in a Galaxy watch. I purchased a used Flip 3 on eBay for $400 after tax to use as a trade. I got the Z Flip 4 and Galaxy watch for $99 after trade-in. The total out of pocket after jumping through hoops was about $550 for a Z Flip 4 with free case and a Galaxy watch. I sold the Galaxy watch for $150 which took the cost down to $400 for my Z flip 4. This is how l got a new $1000 flagship phone for a used phone price of $400. It required jumping through a few hoops buying a trade and selling the free watch, but it worked out well for me.

My phone is unlocked and l use cheap MVNO prepaid services. I am not locked into any contracts and can switch carriers at anytime.

Recently I bought a reconditioned iPhone XR 128GB on Amazon for $270. Had to return the first one because it wouldn't read the SIM. The second one is fantastic. It seems like a new phone in every way. Battery life is terrific. I think the XR was $800 when it first came out in 2018.

I believe it was called “Good”. The condition exceeded my expectations.

We got a used iphone 6s for the kids last year, the battery was not too bad and replacements aren't too expensive either if we need it. For ~$150 it was a pretty good deal. Does all the phone stuff good enough.
You can get a new(er?) open box one for a few hundred less than new too. That's all we buy and haven't had an issue yet with the 4 we've got so far.

Have you ever bought a home lived in by someone else? Or rented a place lived in by someone else? Did you replace the toilets? Like they disinfect toilets to be clean the same is done with phones.
