Not my house, so I'm extra polite. If you got warned for something , dont grouse, just mend your ways. You are not wrong, you just differ on the parameters.No need to explain. The time I spend here is restful, because there so little confrontational malarkey . And, usually, I move on with some useful info.

I'm pretty sure I saw the post that was removed leading to this thread. I think in a thread started about multiple brands, it probably would have been left alone. In the thread in question though the OP was just sharing his new purchase and asking for advice. That's not really the place for brand vs. brand stuff, even if it's just a harmless joke. The post was removed to keep the thread on topic, big deal.

I've had posts edited by mods before, and they gave a valid reason for it, and I moved on. It's an internet forum, it's not that big of a deal if your post gets deleted!

Be glad the forum, which you clearly enjoy, is provided free of charge and isn't nearly as much of a mess as many other boards. There are plenty of places on the internet that don't have rules to follow, so I can deal with a few here.

I posted a joke and got, in my PM box, an obscenity-filled rant from a mod (complete with threatening to ban me) for my trouble. The joke was baseball-related and totally inoffensive to anyone with a sense of humor. I have also had posts edited so they meant the OPPOSITE of what I posted.

Kruse, we do not give a pass to members that break the rules even if they donate to the site. I will ban anyone that deserves it. I will use my personal money before I will sell the integrity of this website.

There is a humor section if someone wants to post something they think is amusing. Members will not make "jokes" at someones expense if they value their membership. If you can not stay on topic then start a new thread.

I think the reason people complain so much about this site is because they are so used to the free for all on other sites.

It's also a more mature group of members here (I'll leave the depends jokes out of this

), so the age gap here is going to make one man's joke someone else's goat...

I was trying to post the letters for a company that had to do with parts and the censor wouldn't have any of it.
It really doesn't bother me but the censor can make it a bit aggravating when its a legit three letter company and no alternative wording exist.

Keeping the church mouth engaged provokes more thoughtful responses. There are lots of places one can go to on the internet for flatulence jokes. I appreciate the thoughtful insight in many threads that aren't even car related. You even see decent grammar most of the time. (Even without Mori correcting it!)

Please go into my PM section that I had with one of your mods. It was about two years ago and I saved it. Or, I'll gladly email it to you if you want. Read what was written in the private messages between the two of us and you can decide for yourself if any favoritism was granted to your monetary donors, at least by what he emailed me.
I'm sorry if one of my figures was off, he stated (at the time) that it cost $1000 a month to run this site and I quoted $1500 in a previous post. The correct quote he gave me was that it used to cost $60 a month and now it costs $1000. (Please remember that this was back in 2010)
I'm done posting about it, and for the record, I have no problem with your rules. It's your site.

One thing is for sure, I am glad that this site doesn't lower itself to the lowest common denominator, something that is basically expected by today's society.
Actually I find reading posts on this site refreshing, as other forums offer constant influx of garbage, followed by bad grammar, followed by poor sentence structure. I’m usually exhausted after few posts.

There are plenty of harmless jokes going around on this site, but if someone wants to be constantly entertained, go look else ware.

Yah. No foolin'. It took a few minutes to come up with marlarkeyinstead of the coarser alternative. So thank you. I can use all the culture I can get

It's Helen's sandbox, the rules have been in place for some time and it is a formula that has worked.
So don't expect things to change.
I sometimes find the restrictions frustrating (I seldom provide links with my posts anymore, because of what might be in the background)But I know the alternative is voting with my feet, as some other members have.

Only time will tell how long BITOG lasts.

Will possible changes be a subject to debate at the upcoming BITOG meeting?
