ok so i have wondered this for awhile but figured maybe fellow bitogers have something to say about this. i will say ill probably get yelled at for posting this but im not breaking any rules so it shouldn't be an issue. does anyone think that sometimes bitog goes to far and is a little strict on jokes? obviously im not talking dirty jokes but jokes about various types of cars or just harmless stuff. what comes to my mind as a great example is the howie long chevy truck commercials. where chevy makes fun of the "man step" does that sort of humor bother people? do you guys consider such humor as bashing? i just want to know because i think being humorous is a big part of a good forum . and bitog is no exception imo. please guys share your thoughts. i dont want any arguments or any other craziness just want to know what some of you think.

Not much bothers me - I have very thick skin. Racism, sexism, and any other form of intolerance are about the only things that bother me.
see thats how i am . i dont take it personal when someone makes fun of stuff. maybe some people are very sensitive? idk.
Many words that are PG rated that can be and are spoken on prime time TV are streng verboten on BITOG.
Censorship is at medieval levels because we have so many little kids posting here.

is it just me in thinking this. if it gets to crazy where even a joke is inappropriate people arent going to want to be here? its said over and over its a place to relax. well if you have be worried about saying the wrong thing you cannot relax. i think the cursing should be censored . but joking around while not including racism sex politic or religion or cursing shouldn't that be appropriate
Decorum is always in fashion and I'm happy to have sailed to what appears to be the only island of it on the internet.

It's a Internet forum with lots of people and different opinions. Were not the forum owner/mods to determine what's acceptable and not. Who cares? I know I don't if someone respectfully agrees or disagrees. If someone gets angered to where they are still angry after logging off, they have bigger problems. I'm not the forum owner to determine what's acceptable and not. Just deal with it and move on. There is a humor section on this forum.

im not talking about cursing or being offensive im talking about making a joke such as saying trucks shouldnt have coil springs a heated steering wheel or a timing belt a truck should be cast iron pushrod manliness. basically a truck should be a tobbacker chewing wrangler jean wearing buck knife using manly man truck. not a wimpy truck with a man step. but of course im just joking every truck that has these features are good trucks it just being silly. but does that bother anyone? does anything similar to that kind of haha bother anyone ?
volk if we cannot come on here relax and enjoy the company of others, learn a little bit, and maybe a joke or 2 whats the point. we arent robots we are men and women we have personality and stripping the personality away isnt good for the board imo

Do you always need a joke to learn something, relax, or enjoy the company of others.? If not, that's the point. Yes being light hearted on a forum is good but I don't think getting worked up over it is worth worrying about. You don't have to use harmless jokes to learn someone's personality.

Sounds like an issue you should talk to the mods about, not start a thread complaining about it? Evidently you agree it's dumb to get worked up about something like that but yet you still are.

The Chevy truck "apocolypse" Super Bowl commercial.....that I considered inapropriate and offensive,not humorous.All the recalls this week for Cruze proves,if the end of the world comes,the first vehicles to quit will be GMs,without dealer support.
well i wasnt even talking about the chevy apoolypse ad. but since you said that i take offense to that because you said gm would quit first!!! just kidding but see how dumb that is. it was a commercial i thought it was funny but i do not have respect for gm anymore. lets not get into the recalls every auto maker has had more then their fair share. all companies build cars a cheap as possible recalls are going to keep happening more and more because of it. yonyon: i see people joke around and nothing is said but when i do some trigger happy mod erases my stuff and throws a temper tantrum. maybe its just me they dont like? idk. i thought since im a regular they would want to keep me around not make me miserable. maybe im wrong?
