As a brief follow-up to my previous thread regarding HD Sport Trans, and as I couldn't find an actual VOA...anywhere...I had a sample tested. Here are the results.

To answer my own question, no, as I suspected, I don't see using Formula+ in bikes that originally called for Sport Trans. Formula+ is not only considerably heavier (basically SAE 30 v. SAE 50), it lacks zinc and phosphorus for ZDDP.

Sport trans was superseded by Formula +. Most people I know that don't want or use F+ use Mobil 1 75w-90 which is pretty much grade-equivalent with Sport Transmission fluid. I assume this is for a sporty?

Correct on both. Sport Trans was discontinued around 2003 mainly because of the zinc and phosphorus fuss. I think F+ came out in 2005 and is actually recommended by HD for 71 and up Sportys. Mine is a 1996 btw. F+ still has some phosphorus, but is thicker and added boron for anti-wear. There's nothing special about either one. I know some/many prefer the M1 you mentioned to replace both Sport Trans and F+. Although I may eventually go with M1 over F+, it too is a bit heavy.

As long as I can still find Sport Trans, I'll stick with it.
