Happy Halloween !!

Passing out candy now. I have a prosthetic eye. I took it out & told some kids "I was rubbing my eye & my eyeball fell out. Have you ever had that happen before?" The look on their faces! :ROFLMAO:

Took the kids up to the nursing home & the wife is walking around the neighborhood w/them for more candy. Fun times.

The wife, our daughter and I just finished handing out candy for the first time ever. This is the first year we've ever lived in a trick or treat friendly neighborhood, and we had a lot of kids. It was fun. We had an inflatable light up Halloween Hello Kitty and Halloween music playing on the JBL speaker right behind Hello Kitty. Some of the little ones were trying to figure out how the sound was coming from Hello Kitty. 😄

This year and last year have been our busiest years in the last ten years or so which is good I like handing out candy and seeing all the costumes. I was sitting in a chair in my driveway and this one girl probably 5 or 6 dressed like Wednesday Addams came and asked me what I was dressed up as and I said just my everyday self and then she bonked me on the head with her bucket and her mom grabbed her and said don’t do that again or your going home. It kinda made me laugh cause I think she was just being funny and it wasn’t a hard hit it was light but I couldn’t help but laugh.

Also very cold out there tonight too. I remember back when I was a kid we’d be out till like midnight going trick or treating. This year it’s about 9:30 when we had our last one. I wish they would not have World Series games on Halloween because it’s annoying to have to keep getting up and going to the door.

Also on my way home there was a ton of trick or treaters walking down the main highway road. Not an actual highway but a somewhat rural us route 460. It’s not one I’d be walking on by choice just because people don’t drive carefully on that road and I’d definitely never walk kids down it on Halloween right on the shoulder of the road. The houses down that road probably weren’t expecting any trick or treaters anyway.

we had a good many treaters. last group was 3 or 4 teenage girls walked up to me in my garage and asked if they could rob me totally caught me off guard lol. she says oh i dont want to rob you i want to rob your candy.. im like take it clean the bowl out. guess i had many treaters few tricksters.

Daughter sent me pictures of the grandsons in their Halloween outfits. I responded back it was very nice for her to send pictures of the boys, but I really want to see pictures of their candy booty.....

I had 42 kids stop by. I was starting to sweat a bit, as I only had made up enough goody bags for 50 kids. For a costume, I did some shopping on eBay and ended up as a football player. One boy that I would guess was 5 or 6 years old, just stood with his mouth hanging wide open when he saw me walk up to the door. He was simply in awe (and that's what makes it worth it).

I'm already 6 foot 3, and then you add some shoulder pads, a jersey, football pants, pads, a headband, and some cleats... and I'm sure I looked absolutely huge to him. Many of the kids (and parents) complimented me on my costume.

I don't usually get into Halloween, but there is a young couple across the street with 3 kids who are just getting old enough to really have fun on Halloween... so I mainly did it for them. I enjoyed getting to see them in their costumes.

Because there are so many people in Ontario that wanted to watch last night’s Jays game it pretty much made it an unwritten rule that the trick or treating was going to stop by 8:00! A lot of my friends had mentioned yesterday that kids stopped coming after 8, although the high winds also probably contributed to the shorter time too. I didn’t get any kids here at all actually.

That is a funny story. My 10 yr old was Wednesday Addams too. She even had the hand "Thing" on her shoulder. You took the situation well.
We're not home so no T or T but wanted to say it's unbelievable what people are spending on Halloween decorations now, at least in our area.
Wife bought some spider cob web stuff & stretched it out on one side of the porch, kids had their little pumpkins on display, & I turned on the Winter "decorative lights" same as Christmas lights. Nothing fancy here but just a good time! There were a few that got the fronts of their houses in the newspaper for going all out but I ask my wife where they put all that stuff for 90% of the year in storage.

We did a Trunk or Treat at the local sports grounds. People park their vehicle and open the trunk or back hatch with the treats in a container. My niece in New Zealand mentioned that’s what they do and they make an elaborate effort to decorate the vehicles. A local school principal was from New Zealand, and that might be what started it here. We have it during daylight hours from 4:30 to 6:00 PM. The kids have a great time because they get to see everyone’s costumes.

Awesome! Hand out candy or brought the kiddos? The wife took the kids to our local Trunk N Treat & also the other one in the town over. You know...more candy!

With each passing year, I go farther away from enjoying halloween to hating it. And I can say now I'm well into curmudgeon territory. Of all the dumb things to celebrate.

Just go buy the candy and pig out, no need for all the pretense.
It's a community celebration of sorts. Yes, it has some odd history but can be fun. It's not for everyone for sure. Just to note though that I don't like candy all that much & the kids are limited but they had a ball going to get it so that's what counts for me.

If you dressed up what would you be? An older person w/a sign that says "Leave me alone?". :ROFLMAO:
Just teasing a bit.. thanks for your reply!
