Hankook tires, premature wear

I still don't think you've mentioned WHICH Hankooks we are talking about. Tough to say how the tire should have worn when we don't know which particular tire we are talking about... Just a thought...

Sorry, I have been distracted by other things.
Ok, I just checked the tire and it's the

OPTIMO H275
P195/60 P15.

Any idea how they hold up on the G6?

The Optimo H725? (Couldn't find anything on the H275 as posted). Tirerack reviews show this to be a mediocre tire at best - lots of noise and treadwear complaints for this Chinese made tire (yes, the tire is made in China by a Korean company).

Thanks, I do seem to have a lot of noise with this tire, and I will absolutly assure anyone who will listen, I will not ever buy another one of these tires!!. Not even ever.!!!

There is still something that bothers me.

How do only 2 tires wear rapidly and the other 2 are just fine? There is something missing in this picture. Here's what I suspect: That the tires weren't actually rotated - except for the last time!

I do my own tire rotation.

I managed to get 50K miles out of a set of Michelins on my 88 Town Car...Since then the most I get out of the Michelins are 40K miles but they are overall shot at 35K miles...Costco has the best price for Michelins.

Crown,
That must be discourgeing. When I had the 96 Merc GM I used the Cooper Lifeliner.(bought three sets of those) A 80K rated tire that I would get 65K out of. Might want to look into the Coopers as the price might be somewhat less than the Mich.

For the longest time I have heard nothing negative about Cooper tires...I will check them out the next time around...I got my last pair of Michelins 6K miles ago so hopefully they will last for awhile...I am not hard on tires but will pay closer attention to the air pressure.

As far as maintenance goes I am like you as I can jump into the car anytime [without notice] and head cross country.

I do my own tire rotation.

But how often?

7-9K.

Here's the scoop on the Hankook tires that I had premature wear with. After almost three months my replacement tires came in off the boat. The dealer called and said the tires were in, and had them installed today. Needless to say no more Hankook tires for me.
