Has anyone bought or used one of those handheld blowers that you see on Facebook for drying your car after a wash? Do they actually work? I use my Milwaukee M18 leaf blower but these little handheld units look intriguing. Thanks

I have the little Makita blower. One of my favorite tools. It works great for drying cars, motorcycles, etc. Also good for blowing off the table saw, drill press, etc. I probably use it 4x as much as my 'big' blower.

Does it do a better faster job than the full size blower? Would you say worth the money? Which brand did you go with?

+1 on the little battery makita. I use it and (more often) gasp - it's gas powered backpack cousin as I've got a few cars I'm trying to burn through when I'm drying them off.

I use the 18v makita all the time for this purpose and others such as blowing snow off the cars, driveway. I am looking at the 40v blower now since I got the 40v mower last summer.

I use the bottom of the line Stihl gas blower, and it works well. My son swears by the Milwaukee M18 battery unit.
It's all in the air flow. More air flow = better.

Somebody needs to try a backpack blower and report back.

;)

My makita gas blower is a backpack unit. 4 stroke as a matter of fact. It had the most CFM air flow of its cohort when it was tested.

This thread has been mainly suggesting leaf blowers. The one(s) I am referring to are

Ones like this. The videos seem as if the blowers are amazing. Just curious if anybody has bought one and if it is worth the money

No nozzle or extension? Looks like a low powered hair dryer.

Use the battery platform you already have. Very large range of choices.

Ad states "130,000" rpm ! I don't think so. o_O

"Power Capabilites
With an impressive 130,000 RPM, the Jet Blower brings unmatched power to every job. This high-speed performance ensures maximum airflow, letting you tackle dust, debris, and water with ease. Perfect for both precision work and heavy-duty tasks, the Jet Blower’s power capabilities make it an essential tool for any workspace."

Found a clone, or even the exact unit as Storm Industries, on aliexpress for $44. Figured if it is crap I am not out a lot. Will update when it gets here on the slow boat from China

Blower arrived today. Put a battery on it and it has amazing power up to one foot away from it. It diminishes from there. I will have to wait for a day that is above freezing to possibly wash the car and try it out for the purpose I bought it. I will say that this thing is light. I do not have a small scale but I venture to guess that it weighs less than a pound. So if it has enough power to blow the car dry after a wash it will save my aging body from using the heavy leaf blower. We shall see
