Ive seen people here post about turkey basters to remove the PS fluid from the reservior but on one of my vehicles a turkey baster wouldnt fit in it so I used a 13" long push pump from a 2L jug of hand sanitizer and it worked great. Just wanted to post this incase someone wouldnt think about trying one.

Good idea. If you look around there are a lot of devices that can be used. I finally gave up and bought a vacuum pump for the oil that works on the trans and ps fluid. For the engine I just hook it up and go do something else. It's clean and efficient in getting it all. I was against them until I tried one in a friend's garage. I'm getting oil and lazy and this is very good at what it does. I know there are cheaper ways to go but it's worth looking around.

Just one question: Where do you get a 2L jug of hand sanitizer?

Sysco
EcoLab

I you have the guts, go into a restraunt and offer to slip them 10 bucks for a bottle+pump

Places like autozone, home depot, ect may have big containers of hand cleaners too btw.

These are also available from usplastic.com along with some other handy products .. I bought a few of these pumps for 1 Gal jugs of LC-20 and FP-60 bottles .. they are metered and output 1oz per pump-stroke..

For PS fluid you can also use an oil transfer pump – AutoZone has a nice one with a pull-T handle – same concept as a turkey baster but designed for oil .. Or, for a complete flush you can disconnect the PS pump return line and use the engine to pump out the fluid - similar to the method used to flush auto transmissions.

FYI … USPlastic also has some inexpensive squeeze bottles that dispense a measured 1oz. good for fuel & oil additives ..

It seems to work faster than using a baster too, ofcourse if one used a pump from a small soap bottle then it'd take forever so the bigger the better.

Ive had my duh's too. Lost the key to my new mower on the way home and had to push it out of the trailer and only then did I think to get the key from the old mower and try it on the new mower. It worked and I drove it to the shop. Wouldve been much easier on me to think of that before pushing it out of the trailer.
