My 15 Tacoma is done for. Waiting to hear back what insurance is going to give. I could buy it back but keeping full coverage would be stupid and liability isn’t that much cheaper from what I’m told. He’s one more timing chain pic for your enjoyment, lol.

That’s a shame. Looks like that was a pretty nasty storm.
That sucks.But no need to worry about parking lot door dings scratches etc. Run it till the wheels fall off.
Or until the frame rusts away, which is what would happen here in the salt belt.
It would make a good starting point for an off-road crawler.
If it’s a 4x4 buy it back. It is now trail tolerable.
My Trooper has been "totaled" twice in its life.
I still have full coverage on it. Wasn't much more than liability only.
That hail storm was so bad it turned a Tacoma into a Pilot!
I'd imagine if you get it legally repaired & inspected then receive a "prior salvage" branded title you could get full coverage again. If you don't fix it up to get the title re-branded then you might be right on that scenario.

I'd have happily used a truck like that to cart tools and materials around in my younger, hammer swinging days.
Well to my surprise I’m getting a check for 21,000. Considering I paid 27,000 for it 8 years ago. Put on 107,000 miles on it for a total of 137,000. It’s just a base SR5 Prerunner with no options. By back I would have got 8,000. The 21,000 is more than mint condition with the same miles if I sold it private party.
