hello,

So one of my H3/9003/HB2 bulbs' low beam filament gave up the ghost and I'm ordering a replacement online. Standard predicament. Until it arrives however, can I use a spare low beam H7 set temporarily to keep me from getting pulled over at night? The prongs look like they should line up but I'm not sure if it will work. I don't need high beams at the moment because I drive in a densely populated urban area.

Thanks.

No… but you can get the correct bulb for $15-20 at the auto parts store…
I'm not going to do that since the correct bulbs I ordered are less than 1/4th that cost. I'm cheap. If I absolutely can't drive the car at night for a week so be it. I can adjust.

Just don't drive the car at night and wait for the new bulbs to arrive

If you don't have the black ink dip on the tip and are supposed to, you can cause more glare. Many low beams have this ink so the filament doesn't directly shine out the front.

I do applaud your stinginess but you probably could have found a two dollar bulb on rock auto and planned ahead.

In short, no. While you may get a H7 to fit, the connector for the H4 won't power the H7 bulb

Just go to Wal-mart and get a Sylvania H7 for the mean time.

Just fix this problem ASAP. Not worth a ticket over a bulb. Then you gotta prove you had it fixed at a shop. Then go online and buy some spare bulbs and keep em in the glove box. Problem and future problem solved.
