GULF motor oils ...

I haven't seen anything with the GULF logo since this;

We had a Gulf gas station here for about three years, first and only one I've seen anywhere in the region. It's now an Amoco though.

Gulf oils might be available on line.

A few GULF gas stations in vicinity . May get it one of these gays . Likely 93 .

In 1985, Chevron purchased Gulf. Since then, marketing in the southeastern US was sold to BP, in the northeastern US to the convenance store operator Cumberland Farms and the European operations to a Middle Eastern group.
The picture of the 917 brings up an interesting point. Gulf still seems to be grtting publicity from the Steve McQueen movie made 50 years ago.
Various companies have made shirts, jackets, etc. based on the movie but the interesting thing is that the jackets aren't crrect. i know, I had one. I check ebay for a can of Gulf racing oil every so often but no luck

We have a few Gulf stations in SC but they are not as common as Marathon, Exxon, etc.

Recent discussion on the Gulftec oil here:

The Gulf stations came back here in the 1990's but seem to be turning into Marathon stations. The oil is probably quite good but it seems to be relegated to garage house oils or local part stores...

My grandfather owned a Gulf service station and CBI Tire store in Greenwood, Miss. until around 1985. Great memories of hanging out at the station when I was little.

The people who bought the station from him still have a few signs and other memorabilia that they saved when the original building was torn down. I’ve asked to buy them, but no dice.

Speaking of memorabilia . Was given these whenever I made a purchase ( candy , soda , etc. ) from local corner SUNOCO gas station . Wish I had them . Was 12 at the that time . https://sportscollectorsdigest.com/memorabilia/sunoco-nfl-stamps and https://www.google.com/search?rlz=1...AhWDVs0KHcdeBBsQjJkEegQIBxAC&biw=1913&bih=959 .
When I was a kid my best friend's dad owned a Sunoco gas station and car wash in town. I remember getting piles and piles of those stickers whenever I visited his house. And I didn't even like football :)
