Many years ago I bought a sheet of white material that looked sort of like tyvek that was used over grass seed to protect the seed and retain moisture. I used it several times and it worked amazingly well - apparently it is porous enough for water and air to pass through and allows sufficient light while retaining soil moisture. It came with some little plastic spikes to anchor it down. I haven't been able to find it at any of the home improvement stores for quite a while (I believe I bought it at Lowe's 10+ years ago). After several punctures with the spikes and mischievous squirrels, my old sheet is pretty much in tatters.
Anyone know what this product is called and where I might be able to purchase it?
I have a few areas where I need to grow some grass. Specifically, where some trees were cut and the stumps and roots were ground up. I plan on tilling up the areas and throwing down plenty of seed and starter fertilizer.
