Anyone following my OCI's may have noted my notes, and other posters chiming in on my limited (read three) OCI's following my second ARX treatment in relation to my declining iron numbers.

Question: it has been said many times, to either use Dino or Group III synthetic as the rinse oil for ARX treatments. Could it be possible that Group IV's work also (but perhaps maybe slower)

I only post RAW data, and let the chips fall where they may.

Something I noticed with the Dodge, which has Amsoil 0W20 in it, was that when I added the maintenance dose of ARX to it, it went from pretty clear with a slight tinge of yellow to brown within a tank of gas. This is after the Amsoil had been in there 2 to 3k and after a ARX treatment. I think it does work with this oil.

I noticed that my rinse oil is a bit yellow looking too. Not sure if that's normal or not. I'm just using a dino rinse, maybe about 200 miles into it.

I would like to know this also. I just completed the cleaning phase on my Mercedes and put in Valvoline 20w-50 as the rinse oil thinking it was grpIII, then looked at the PDS and it is very clearly a PAO based oil. Oh well, car only has 40,000 miles.

I would follow the application instructions (i.e. use dino). In my case, it may be an anomaly, it may be GC may be th only one that works, or tons of other factors.
