I'm looking at Group 65 AGM batteries for my F350 with the 6 4. I've narrowed it down to the Batteries Plus X2 and the Odyssey Extreme. Both get excellent reviews.
What would be the better battery?
The truck has a 16.5 Warren winch but also needs to deal with Texas heat.
They are about the same money and both Batteries Plus and Advanced Auto are just 40 miles from me, so relatively close.

They are the same battery. X2 by Northstar and Odyssey Extreme are both manufactured by EnerSys. EnerSys acquired Northstar in 2019. I would go with whichever is currently the best price. I have Odyssey Extreme group 35 batteries in both my vehicles. Never had an issue in AZ summer heat and Idaho mountains winter weather, starting at -30F.

I bought two group 65 AGM for my F250 PSD. I used Walmart.com to find stores that had one in stock.

Second would be NAPA.

Both are manufactured by East Penn. At least at the Delaware stores I shopped at.

I’ve bought two of the X2 flavor and quite like them. They are 3 years old and not old enough to show longevity value yet. One vehicle as a PV panel on the camper shell and keeps it topped off - spins the engine like the day it was new. The other “normal” vehicle, performance-wise acts like a normal battery. Longevity is TBD.

Is group 65 the biggest that will fit?
I was working on a Ford 6.4l last week, batteries and cables were seriously neglected, looked like there was room for slightly larger batteries.
I don't know what that slightly larger group size would be.

Everstart platinums get my vote. we have tons in service in the fleet and not a single one has needed to be warrantied. they get cooked all day idling in texas heat. when either accord needs a battery, they will get an everstart platinum 24f as a popular oversize option.
