AGM batteries handle the pounding of waves against the hull better than normal flooded.
Is 6 more months warranty worth double the price?
The life of the batteries on my boat will probably be a little harsh for the next year or two as I need to trailer it until I can get a slip. I was hoping that AGM which self discharge less would be a better solution that flooded cell.
The length of the warranty does not equal the life of the battery. I'd rather have a better battery with a shorter warranty than keep replacing junk.
Is failure, acid leakage, and damage worth saving a few dollars?
The worse review on the Walmart battery says it lasted 15 months while the best one says 12 years. Price doesn't always equal quality.

Get the largest battery that fits your battery compartment. See if you can fit a grp 31 battery. Larger batterys last longer on and off the water. Agms can last longer with no maintaince and no battery acid spills.

OK, then go for the largest batteries that will your battery compartment will accomodate . 14 yrs on my grp 31 optima agm and no maintainance. Whatever you do, go big on the batteries. That's what we do....we fish a, little, down here, you know.
