Do any major retailers still sell a decent BCI Group 26R battery?
Does anyone still make a decent group 26?

I checked AutoZone and WalMart and they only have the lowest warranty variant availiable. No upgrade. I couldn't even find a decent dual-terminal 26/70 upgrade....not that the cables would reach anyway. but it would be worth a shot.

If it was my car I would just drop the 1yr free/5yr pro-rate battery in and call it a day, but it's my wife's car.

Napa Legend battery. Part number is 7526R. 540cca, 18 month free replacement period with a 75 month total warranty. It is a true 26r group size made my Deka.

It looks like Interstate has that size in two lines:
Regular: 450 CCA, 65 month warranty
Mega-Tron: 540 CCA, 75 month warranty

O'reilly carries a 26R battery , 2 year free replacement and 72 month pro rate . I think it is 79.99 at the store I work at.

O'Reilly is unfortunately not a good source for batteries for me.

I had a problem returning a bad battery there once before.
The "Assistant Manager" at 680 went to the trouble of testing and establishing that the battery was bad, then looked at my receipt and decided there was no warranty because it had been sold on an employee account...at the store that I managed. Which was no longer an O'Reilly. (783 had opened since then about a block away, but wouldn't do it either).
Let's just say I had to jump through more than a few hoops to get a refund when just a replacement battery would have made me quite happy. I got tired of trying to get a replacement and just bought another battery from another retailer. Finally got someone from Springfield, MO to call the store and just refund my purchase price.

You know how it goes, Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me.
They are not getting a second chance.

Yeah I understand how you feel Spazdog .With any retail place you will get good locations and good people but and also bad locations and bad people. I know we would have returned it if it tested bad.

BCI Group 26R is not readily available at every autopart store, same for BCI Group 27F, what weird is BCI Group 27 can be found at almost anywhere.
