Our new Weber - the side burner - well I never had one before. Still have not used it much, but I tell you boiling up a big pot of collards in the summer, that thing is NICE. No stink, steam or heat inside the house!

Side burner grills, who has one? What do you use it for? Ideas?

Another, "Thanks for a new word in my vocabulary", recognition to a BITOGer.
I've seen grills with what I assumed were work tables on the side(s) all my life.
I never knew some of them were burners, not just tables.

Got one because the GF wanted it. Never used it. Yeah, during a power outage or something it might come in handy. Yes a Weber.
I got one too for our NG grill, I think I've used it perhaps 5 times in 25 years. Even then it was pretty much "because it is there" rather than because it was really necessary.

I don't use the side burner a lot but it is so handy when I do need it that I won't buy a grill without it.. They do sometimes smoke up the bottom of the pots and pans so I keep a few utensils reserved for outdoor use only.

I used to use it to cook bacon, as I hate how it stinks up the house. Now I have a pellet smoker, and do bacon on that...MUCH better than fried.

I searched FB Marketplace for one for my Broilmaster P3 at our beach house. Found one that the guy agreed to ship to me. I needed to buy and install a natural gas orifice too but I found one of those online and did that. I haven't used it on that grill in 2 years but I've had them before and they're great for keeping the mess and smells outside...corn, shrimp,etc...

Don't have one on our Weber Genesis II but I did buy the Weber Crafted Frame and the griddle that fits it.
Pretty awesome setup.

When I had my LP gas grill, it had a sideburner that I used all the time. I'd boil water/beer for shrimp, boil water for corn, or sautee the peppers and onions for steak and cheese subs etc. Charcoal only now for grilling, but have the flat-top for other stuff I'd have used the sideburner for.

Our house has propane and I hard lined it to my griddle and grill. Well the gas outlet was there on the patio, unused. So I made a little manifold for a valve for each and then did hoses to each cooker. Really sweet.

Yeah I do bacon in the smoker and griddle, sometimes in the air fryer (ahahaha)

Corn I do wrapped in foil on the grill. Doan like burled corn.

I've got a side burner Weber, don't use it much but when the need arises it is very nice to have feature.

I've had them, use case is for boiling corn but also finishing maple syrup outdoors. Keeps the windows from fogging up.

It's cheaper for me to go to BJs and fill the 20 lb cylinders vs having it delivered to my house, so it's motivation to do a lot of cooking out there.

Yep, I have one on my Weber. I use it to pan fry fish and other things that would smell up the house.
I got it at first so that I could use it in case of a power outage. Never had an outage since!

Have, and do use on occasion. Wife likes it in the summer, less heat for the ac to pump out of the house. Gets used enough that we would want going forward (if nothing else, it's a nice place to set plates onto when not using the burner).

In the past 25 years of grills with side burners I've used it maybe 10 times, most for roasting coffee beans.
