I get a vibration noise from the gearshift of my 1.5L Mitsubishi Lancer when driving at high speeds.

I opened the center console and I saw that the assembly has white grease. There is also a little play that I hope I can eliminate by stuffing more grese. What type of grease should I buy in order to add some more in the assembly?

it'll be lithium grease, but doubt you have the solution there.

Are all lithium greases long life or should I search for a specific type?

I don't know if it will make the vibration go away, bust since it's failry easy to apply the grease I'm thinking of giving it a try.

When i rebuild shifter assembly on my old Mitsubishi 3000GT i just used common industrial grease. No need to be fancy with lube.
I intend to use the same type as the one use by Mitsubishi. I think you are right though. It's not crucial.

Doesn't matter if it's long-life, it's not subjected to heat which is what ages oils and greases quicker.
Oh, OK. I thought that grease would get dried with time. If long life has to do with heat and harsh conditions, but not with time, then yes there is no point of using it.

Are you shifter bushings worn out? I replaced the plastic oem bushings in my 300ZX with SPL bronze bushings and used M1 red grease to lube the assembly when I put it back together.

That's the sifter: https://partsouq.com/en/catalog/gen...Z2ZhPnv7QAAAABtNo2v$&vid=0&cid=2&uid=51548&q=

I don't think it has any bushings.

Here are some photos of it: https://www.2chance.ru/product/kulisa-mkpp-2450a038-mitsubishi-lancer-cxcy-2007/

In this picture: https://www.2chance.ru/wa-data/public/shop/products/77/46/4677/images/7316/7316.970.JPG there is definitely a little play of the horizontal metallic axle in the white plastic hole. I'm not sure if that's the way it should be, if the play is there by design or not, but when driving fast over 70-80 mph the shifter produces a vibration noise that stops when I put my hand on it (on the knob or when I grab the lever).
