Graphite dry lube - what are its uses?

I have some PB Blaster Graphite Dry Lube. What are its uses?

If I use it to lube my locks, won't residue end up on the key and end up in my pocket, etc?

Is it suitable for door hinges? Garage door rollers?

I've tried using it on door hinges without much luck. However, it is great in locks of all kinds, and I have most successfully used it to lube my handcuffs when they get a little tight. Just don't overdo it, and you won't need to worry about the residue.

One final word of advice...be careful with that stuff as it comes out of the can fast and furiously.

I find no use for powdered graphite anymore [still have it around].
The liquid 'Dry Slide' had graphite with a carrier fluid that evaporated, and it had/has some use. From M16s to hinges, etc.
But dry powder? I always find something better for any job.

I can't find a use for graphite either! WD-40 works good enough for locks, although professional locksmiths use Houdini Lock Lubricant. You won't catch a locksmith with graphite any more.

Maybe added to engine oil it would help extend the life of an engine?

The aerosol spray dry graphite is great for applying an even, paint-thick layer of graphite on a part. It'll stick around, instead of immediately falling off or blowing away.

There's some swivel luggage bag fasteners that could benefit from a very light shot of something like white lubricant. White graphite (hexagonal boron nitride) seems overkill.

Also, new wiper blades have a thin layer of dry graphite coating on them.

I use powdered graphite mixed with Exxon Cylesstic steam cylinder oil to lubricate the steam-side piston rods on our large c1914 Worthington steam water pumps.
