Grammar police, pet peeve.

I notice the opposite. They add an ly when unnecessary. “Most importantly.” That and replacing effect with impact (“How will this Water Pick impact my molars?”) grinds my gears.
Effect? or

Affect?

Grammar and vocabulary in this country are on the decline. It doesn't help when most writers for TV shows and movies can't get it right. It doesn't help that you can be labeled a snob because you use multi-syllable words and speak or write in grammatically correct sentences. There is a growing anti-education/anti-intellectualism movement in this country that is also playing into the decline of language.
Sounds like the second coming of the proletariat, doesn’t it?

I know if I had substituted saw/seen, my 3rd grade teacher's (Mrs. Welch, RIP) hair would have stood straight up. That would have been the one and only time I did that.

Wolf being pronounced woof.
Console being pronounced council. *Don't know why, but this popped into my head while trying to go to sleep...which made me think of this thread...which led to the "wolf" word...and delayed sleep!🤪

Classic there and their and your and you're. And the word, "often". When did it got from OFF-EN to OFT-EN?

I know a guy who always gets tripped up by faux amis and by similar words. For example, he can't get 'penal code' right. And he of all people should know because he transports prisoners for a living.

Miss Fricke (my Gr 4 teacher, RIP) would go ballistic over "My mother, she made this cake ..." rather than "My mother made this cake ..."

Our English language is being massacred.
Too lazy to even move their tongues properly.
Example, then vs than. Easier to pronounce then. Compare them when speaking normally.
I don't know about you but I find then seems to take a little less effort. Then again, some people don't have a clue that there's even a difference. A lack of reading and writing skills perhaps. Cheers.
