Pablo, SPAM SUCKS. But there's NOTHING we can do about it! That sucks even more!

I used to paste my email over at Novell and Microsoft's NNTP support forums. What I DIDN'T know was that these SPAM companies scrape nearly every public NNTP service for emails. Soon after I was flooded with emails. Literally 150+ per day, maybe 3 or 4 were legit. These SPAM ?!?#)%8-off's are rutheless. I hate SPAM. I hate Spyware even more.

I'm done hating for the day, and for the week...

More states need to start cracking down on SPAM. NYS attorney general Elliot Spitzer has taken action against multile SPAMers, bringing quite a bit of cash (from very large settlements) into the state government. He has also declared war on telemarketers calling people on NYS's "do not call" list. He has won all of these cases.

It's too bad he is considering leaving the attorney general's office in an attempt to move up the political ladder. He has taken on big business many times in an attempt to protect the little guy. Other states need to learn from his example.

I did not get this one. You must be special Pablo and the lady likes you in order to give you personal attention.

The board does not sell or give out any email addresses. In fact, a person has to be registered to view your profile or send you an email. This has been done since the updated program. But you are a Sponsor and the info can be gleaned off of your LINK. One of the prices you pay to be in business.

You shouldn't have said that publicly.

I edited it out, Thanks

Despite my general easy-going beliefs, law-abiding temperment and following the Golden Rule.... there's that little evil part of me that hopes some crazed whacko hunts down the worst of the spammers and remove them permanently from civil society.

If I was on the jury I would stick to "not guilty" no matter what the evidence.

I think we need to bring back public stoning for spammers and those that knowingly spread viruses. Each person that received a copy would be allowed to throw one rock for each copy, limited to what we call #2's here.

No problem, but I'm just being overly paranoid. While there are people actively looking for email addresses on forums and websites, the bulk spy work is done by bots that scour the web relentlessly for email addresses. A bot can't read what you wrote, but he might still find your email address.
