I need the cheapskate method for increasing visibility in Google searches. I've done the GoDaddy.com thing....and frankly it's been disappointing. The response has been underwhelming.

Try this, Google "Pablo Amsoil" - hey look, cool I'm Number #1 in the freebie pile, but:

A) There are two Amsoil weasels ahead of me. Paid, I guess.
B) BITOG is #2 in freebie, but why the choice of a cornball thread as daughter to #2? (How did they come up with that thread??)

Maybe I need to know more how Google works.

If I am to buy Amsoil oil, my search would be "buy Amsoil oil". How does your website fare with that search string?

I would be lost in the rabble....who knows....probably beyond page 20. That's part of the problem. There is no way with just two "general" key words I'll end up on top.

So how did #1 get into that position?

I'm telling ya. Why would Google put that there? What is the rational logic? Please help......

You're lucky. If you put Gary Allan Amsoil in google, I'm right at the top. If you put Gary Allan alone ..you get 97 pages of the C&W singer.

Actually #1 is this:

Yes, but you find me (Captain Jack Sparrow: "but you have heard of me") . Try putting Pablo and rocks in google and see where that takes you.

Probably some porn site. Google this: Pablo Rocks Amsoil

Google managed a good coup in search engines. I used to use Metacrawler that used (IIRC) 13 search engines at once. I haven't even looked at it for years

edit: I just used Metacrawler and it finds my name with some posts ..but all the links are dead due to "theoildropserver" as opposed to bobistheoilguy.com
