Thanks for sharing that info. Would you know if that software would install on this moto device?https://www.phonescoop.com/phones/phone.php?p=6582
Just another tip... It's not always easy following some of these directions. Installing a new ROM (for beginners) isn't always as easy as they make it out to be.
It's one of those things where you have to have patience and some knowledge. Having noted that... Lineage is one of many ROMS that can be installed.

Here's a video I just found on this -

It might be helpful to watch just to see what's involved. Hope it works out for you!

I buy my phones outright. None of that finance the phone linked to the service contract stuff for me. Some good deals can be had that way, but most of the time you are linked to a high cost service plan that way. And the phone is locked to the specific carrier you got it from.

One of the things I liked about buying a phone through US Mobile, is they unlocked the phone after less than 2 months of service.

For anyone looking for new service and/or a new phone, check out slickdeals.net. The guys there are like vultures, sniffing out all kinds of deals. Some of these deals are too much work for me, but if you have the energy, and desire to save, there is money to be had. For example: buy a phone through some carrier, keep it on their system the minimum time required, then cancel the plan, and have the phone unlocked. A bit shady, deals like this, but legal. And all part of the original contract. Slick deals shakes out all kinds of deals like this. I found my $250 Pixel 9 on their site.

I forgot all about slickdeals.com been around forever too.
Anyway, I see on the site Verizon has a 4 line deal and 4 free iPhone 17s @$120 a month plus all the fees and taxes they put on and you are stuck for 36 months but still, coming from Verizon not bad. You do need to be a new customer.

BTW - my wife and I are on USMOBILE we use iPhones but I love the Pixel 9 and Pixel 10 deals on US MOBILE if one is ok with android.
Google is pushing for market share and the pricing is amazing.

Does not show an expiration date. I know someone in here got a good deal from them, it was so good it was hard to understand.

Go to the Hot Deals forum, and click on the "phone" filter. Lots of deals to be had. Again, somewhat snarky deals at times. For example, people with an .edu email can setup a special account with additional discounts with Samsung. With blackfriday coming soon, good deals will be available then, too.

@Nessism ... thanks for the reminder about slickdeals... I love free money, just signed up for a Wells Fargo Credit Card. Approved in literally seconds... in three months they will give me $200. You do need to charge at least $500 during those three months. I do that in like two weeks. Not only that but 2% cash back. Which I use Citicard for right now but no problem using the Wells Fargo card. I get 2% on anything my 5% cards dont cover.

Kind of Cool part is besides the $200 if I pay my cell bill every month with the Wells Fargo card they will cover up to $600 if I damage my cell phone, not that I care much, havent damaged on in 23 years. For all I know my Citi card might cover it too but will now pay with the WF card. Arrives in 6 days.

Im good on my phone, the iPhone 15+ is only 6 months old.

We got $900 cash for opening a checking and savings account with someone a few months back. After collecting the $900 we closed it. It might have been WF (I forgot) but was in my wife's name. I also have to open another checking account in her name for $400 ... oops, no, we got $900 from them a couple months ago. However I was able to open a checking with them for $325 that I just noticed. *LOL* SO I made $525 this hour because your post got me going again.

Same... I just wait for Google Store Black Friday sales where trade-in values are highest. For example, last year I traded in my one year old Pixel 8 AND got an Amazon price match. My total out of pocket was something like $92 buck$. In the event I can't fetch that kind of deal, I've been liking PayPal credit where no interest for six-months... No contracts. No salesmen. Easy. Easy.

Not trying to hijack this thread, but one last update... They shipped my old 8pro back to me... It came this morning, opened the box to inspect the carnage... What they sent me is definitely not my phone.... It's a 128gb 8 pro, but it's white, mine was black. This one has some scratches and pitting on the chrome ring around the perimeter, while mine was pristine.
It was at 0% battery when I plugged it in. Charged it up, let it update from Android 14 to 16.

Most likely going to give to my GF'S Dad, who is still using his pixel 6.

scratch that...when i tried to pull up it's IMEI so I could ensure it would work with Visible( her whole family switched to Visible about a year ago), it shows "unknown" for both imei's... which most likely means damage to the modem ... contacted Google support, they're going to give me a Partial refund, and told me to Recycle this used P8 pro they sent me.( Not the full $500 i was originally quoted for the trade-in, but $110 is better than $0...)

Keep us up to date if you can in a few weeks. I like what I read about them. (im not in the market) Just interested in this stuff.
I immediately deleted Chrome and installed Vivaldi. It's Safari-esque enough for my brain (I really like safari) AND comes with a built in ad blocker!

I don't use any of the AI stuff. And transferring my passwords from keychain/passwords was a bit of a nightmare but I managed.

Oh, funny you mention that. I use a paid password manager. Multi year subscription for quite some time. I like it a lot however now that I have many Apple devices I am relying on and using "keychain" 98% of the time now.

With that said if anyone is looking for a password manager to use on all your devices I would recommend RoboForm. I know it's an older company but well refined, tried and true. Still I won't be renewing once my subscription ends, I am not even sure the year yet. Happy enough with Keychain but I will feel a little insecure relying on keychain only. RoboForm has a great interface and you aren't stuck with one operating system.... hmmm.. makes me remember how much I like it. *LOL*
