About $310 out-the-door for a set installed from Sam's Club.

Have a set right now on the Saturn, P185/65R15 size. Have about 41,000 miles on them, and they're probably done at 50k (103k miles). Original set of Firestone Affinity Touring T1 tires lasted 53k.

Should I buy the same tires again? I don't want to spend too much on this beater.

Mike,
I put a set of Allegre's on my daughters Honda(195-65-14). I paid $271.00 with everything and they worked very well especially for the money. Although today I may switch to KUMHO KH 16 60,000 mile warranty. I can get a set of 4 installed at my local PepBoys for less than I paid for the Allegra's and the KUMHO's look great. I beleive they come in your size as well! If you can't get them locally, try the Tire Rack. Most KUMHO tires seem to be the bargan right now, at least when I compare tires in my area or online. I don't like spending more than I have to on the beaters either but I still want decent stuff.

Allegra's are Sam's/WM branded, you won't find them anywhere else. Have had them on the minivan for the past 34k miles, zero problems incl. round trips from FL to CO and FL to DC. Nothing special but they do the job.

Allegra, Regatta 2's, Viva2's are pretty much the same tire with just a little styling differences. My mother had a set of Allegra's on her Camry and I had a set of Regatta 2's on my Corolla. Ok but nothing really special.

wantin150 is absolutly right! The Sears Weather Handler LS is also on the same carcas as the others that "wantin150" has mentioned and all 4 tires have very similar tread design and siping. I purchaced the Allegra's because Consumer Reports gave the Regatta 2 & the Sears LS a high mark for snowy conditions, and that was important to me and they worked well. Although CR magazing rated them lower than most(but not all) of the other tires tested. They were a decent choice!

Have Allegra tires on my Caravan and have been pretty happy with them. Good on snow and in the rain and have gotten good wear out of them. Will buy again when needed.

Cuda,
We too liked these Allegra tires very much and they have performed well in all weather. They were a good choice for us at the time but we just want to try the KUMHO KH 16 for price reasons and the fact that the Kumhos rate quite high with customers. The Kumhos also look very similar in tread and sipe design to the Allegras with about the same mileage warranty(give or take 5,000 miles). So we hope the snow and wet weather traction is about the same or better.

I had a set of Allegras on my Corolla and I absolutely hated them. They were without doubt the worst set of tires I've ever owend. One of the tires developed a warbling sound (as every set of Goodyears tires I've had has), and the level of road noise from these tires was incredibly high. Wet and snow traction was horrible, and the ride was so stiff the tires felt like they were made of solid rubber. The only good thing I can say about them is tread wear seemed to be pretty good. I replaced the Allegras with a set of Kumho A/S 795's and these tires are infinitely better in every aspect.
