I was looking to see if Mobil still makes GM oils, and ran into this:

http://www.goodwrench.com/PartsAccessories/EngineCareProducts.jsp

Looks like they are just using Mobil 1 straight up for their full synthetic and not even repackaging it as Goodwrench. Makes sense I guess since regular Mobil 1 is what some GM vehicles ship with from the factory.

We have a new(er) 2010 Equinox and I plan on putting in M1 at the next oil change. Because of an issue when we first got it I have free oil changes and tire rotations for another 16k miles (will probably have to pay the difference to get synthetic).

That's good about not bothering to repackage. Then you know what you're getting. Plus it makes it harder for them to jack the price just because the dealer is selling it.

If they do (from the factory) it'd be with the Corvette (I know it ships with M1 synthetic, not sure of the grade).

Red Cap 15W-50 was an amazing product.

Now Mobil 1 10w40 4T and Mobil 1 V-Twin 20w50 are tops. V-Twin is about the same I think as Red Cap..but the V-Twin does not have friction modifiers and of course is a bit heavier.

V-Twin rules.

What does that mean exactly? Would that have any ill effect in a car engine????
