Good store brand rotors?

I chose cheap Chinese rotors over the expensive ones available because they were a full POUND heavier. Much more mass and meat.
We have to physically look at what's available. Every car and supplier is different.

Absolutely.
The original rotors on my Mazda looked like the one on the right, they were pulsating at the end of their service life, which was at about 60k miles. The cheap, chinese, white box replacements are doing very well so far at 40k miles. So, in my application the cheapies work very wel at a third of the cost.

I recently put those Advanced Tech rotors on the front of my 2008 CTS as the OEM rotors warped at 60k miles. Very nice product and very well priced from ROCKAUTO.COM. I also put the Advanced Tech brake pads front and rear. I am very happy with them after 10k miles.

The Wearever ones from AAP have Bendix part numbers so they might be the manufacturer.

I have a set on my car and no complaints so far. I measured them and the thickness matches OEM specs and the vents looked about the same as the OEMs that came off the car.

I guess we can conclude that brakes are all about the same and if no one is complaining on brake failures, then we are good to go anywhere and feel safe. Wonder why we don't say the same about all the oils.

What kind of paint will work well on a rotor? I really don't like the rust which forms, but I wonder what will stick long term in the frozen and salty north.

Exactly. Spend a minute checking some of the vital specs and even a cheepie can serve you well.

Affinia (parent company of Raybestos) Test out some lightweight rotors.

I have used and would use again el cheapo rotors from parts stores (mostly autozone). I have never had a problem like they found in the video.

But I guess it goes to show that to some extent you get what you pay for. So now I try and go for at least the mid grade if it is financially feasible.
