Good hydration drink alongside water?

For my day job at Con-Ed utility company in NY. Very simple. 6 man crew / 3- 30 packs of Coors Light in a cooler filled with ice. 2nd cooler had 2 cases of Heineken mixed with 3 bottles of Johnny Walker Black for overtime. That was late spring, summer, early fall. In the winter it was just a cooler full of Johnny Walker Black and Blackberry Brandy. It was outdoor work putting in gas mains and house service lines. No water :) We were just wasted all day in the heat, and the heat didn't bother us. Now I'm retired, try to drink 1 gallon of water a day. Quit drinkin. LOL :) Oh, beer muscles are REAL !!!!!!
Sorry I can’t drink and drive at my work or anywhere. This sounds very dangerous. I seriously hope you are joking cause I’m disgusted reading that post.

Sad but true. I'd say from 1986- 2007. That's company culture. Managers have liquor bottles in their desks. Foreman were no better. I switched departments in 2007-2022, and quit drinking. Management is the worst offender. They get drunk and drive company cars home to this day. Quite horrendous and disgusting. That's why I switched departments. Wanted a liver to collect my pension checks :) I agree with you, but, if you didn't drink, you were considered a spy from Corporate Con-Ed. This " procedure" dates back to when the company started in the late 1800's when Thomas Edison was fighting with Tesla over A/C current vs D/C current. Both were trying to stronghold NY..,,and build their electrical systems starting in Manhattan NY..

No way of life for anyone

Tell me about it. 36 yrs in that company. But, I'm ok..and collecting pension checks. They don't have pensions anymore. I was grandfathered in. Now, they offer you a 401K, but won't match any money you put into it. What good is that ? When I retired @ 55, my medical thru them would have been $ 900.00 a month !!!!! 1/4 of my pension. I jumped on my wife's coverage for an extra $ 125 bucks a month instead. Here's the icing on the cake : There is 15 billion dollars left in the pension fund. Only 5,000 employees are eligible to get it. When everyone dies, there will be billions left over. Goes right back into Con-Ed's pocket. Ridiculous....

I drink the groundwater from my well (loaded with minerals) and eat fruit (loaded with minerals and natural sugars). I've been around for over 50 years...and haven't dried up yet. ;)
