auto/electronics/misc. repair/maintenence, it's the same skill set as medicine, you just have to know how your "patient" works, and how a effects b, effects c... etc.
Changing oil is similar to a bathroom break. The engine oil collects impurities that need expelled similar to eating/drinking etc.

the oil filer is like the kidneys, filtering impurities, and contaminants from the blood. by not changing the filter often enough, he has the enigine in early renal failure. it needs an "kidney transplant" ie: filter change, and a transfusion of Fresh blood , ie: new oil. needs to do them more often than normal for a bit ie: Dialysis treatments
If that's the case, which is true and a great analogy, there are a lot of members on this forum with bad kidneys!
