Golf TDI Autobahn with a manual transmission

Got one of these in the shop today. I had to take an extended test drive in it to do a diag.

I believe I may have bumped my head because its a Kinda fun car to drive around in.

Ha. That thing will easily pull 50mpg while having fun.

Because that's either a GTI with an engine swap or a TDI with a GTI front end and wheels. And interior.

Looks like a GTD which we never got in the USA, but I think there is a YouTube video or read something somewhere that VW USA did bring one over to test. Of course that is most likely modified to mimic one.

What year?

The last year a manual Golf TDI was available in the US was 2015 I believe, but the one in your photo appears to be a more recent model year.

Back in 2009, my wife and I were looking to buy a new car. Our kids were pretty much grown up and we narrowed our choices down to a Mini Cooper and a VW TDI sportswagon.

It was my wifes call and since she had gone along with me on all of my midlife crisis motorcycle purchases I had to defer to wishes. She chose the Mini but I would have loved that Vee Dub.

The 6 speed Mini did have it's charms.
