I had asked G-Oil to confirm this and they replied with an indirect response that confirmed nothing; only stating that a soon to be released 5w-40 would be the recommended oil. So I'm a bit leary of the 3.5 HTHS value, especially when I asked G-Oil point blank w/out receiving a direct answer.
It seems to me the GET's main focus is getting their animal fat derived oils to pass the required standard tests for motor oils, and not to make the finest motor oils available for the price.
Then again, with their frequent rebates they are practically giving the oil away, so the price is near zero for many of us.
