Well wife wants a newer car, I am cheap, looking for a good deal.

I found a nice 2010 GMC Terrain V6 with around 55000 miles on it, very clean, good price too, around $8000
However the reviews are not good, never see anything like that
Is the Terrain that bad ?

Not sure what engines they offered in that year but one of my license ladies drives a newer one with the 4 cylinder with 250k on it. She does a lot of highway though but that's gm's I4.

I believe the V6 in that 2010 should be the 3.0...I had this engine in my 2014 Cadillac Sport Wagon and had zero issues with it (doing routine maintenance) but you might be asking a lot of that engine to move the weight of the Terrain (although the Sport Wagon was no light weight)...

I found the 3.0 V6 to do fine but it seemed it needed to get to the upper rev range to produce the most scoot...test drive one and see if it meets your needs...the 3.0 V6 has a much less if at all issues that the 3.6 had reported...

Good luck with your choice...

I thought the transmissions had some issues, but at that low mileage, you may be able to head that off with some proper maintenance. Otherwise I always thought they were solid cars. Not often you'll find a 15 year old car with only 55k miles. Budget for a some tires because they may be old and flat-spotted.

Meh, not the best assortment of engines but somehow I still see them on the road. Have you considered a 2nd gen (09-2012) Escape? I think they are much better.

Thanks for all the help
I am going to take a look at the car, maybe I can get a good deal
I also found a 2016 Kia Sportage with 60000 miles for $10000.
The Kia has way better reviews

Would you take the GMC over the Kia ?

There a few impalas for sale too, overall is the better car, but the wife want a AWD for the snow

Definitely if it's a V6. Even the 4 would be better than the one in the Kia. Both of those 4s suffer similar fate, they start using oil, no one checks it and they go boom.

Is a V6 2018 Impala with around 50 000 miles, sadly not my call, and that's the car I want for my wife

She has a 2006 Ford fusion 4 cylinder, with 135000 miles, very reliable car, only thing we did was the fuel pump. She wants a newer car.

V6 is better than the 4.
Front lower control arms, and Rear upper control arms seem to go around 100k (give or take). Other than that I service a few high mileage ones from that era without major issues.
