Hey guy’s, Anyone know what power steering fluid is Gm part # 89021186….Could it be Prestone psf or transmission fluid?

Real AC Delco PSF is clearish for whatever reason. I believe that so is Prestone PSF. I got 200,000 miles on my original 2008 Suburban power steering pump using AC Delco PSF before the pump started to leak during winter weather. The steering gear and hydro boost are still in good shape. I changed out the pump and used AC Delco, however, I’m thinking of using Prestone next time I change fluid for whatever reason. I believe the AC Delco stuff is over $10 per quart but hey, it’s not like you change it every 6 months. For me it’s once every 5 years.
Here is some info on on Prestone.

A lot of store brands (like O'Reilly's house brand Master-something-or-other) have the GM spec on the bottle. I believe most PSFs are universally compatible with that spec.

I've used Prestone in GM vehicles for a very long time (including my 20 year old truck) without any problems.

That part number was superseded by 10-5073. My car also specified 89021184 too, but I had no problem with 10-5073.

I also tried Valvoline power steering fluid for my car. Both fluids have the same thickness, but the fluids smelled differently. I decided to use the AC Delco brand since I didn't want the universal additive packs affecting my car.
